Allow for unregistered guests to view courses feature

I'm really looking forward to expanding my lessons with this hosted Moodle away from my IT department. We currently use Blackboard software which causes similar limitations with user access as here - something that I hope can be corrected.

Part of my job is to work within socially and economically challenged areas of the community and increase students literacy within ICT. This can range from teaching pensioners how to work the mouse all the way to assisting activist groups who wish to take their message online and become more established and effective in their goals.

Having students register with globalclassroom as a prerequisite to accessing coursework causes problems for those students of mine who are starting out and cannot process too much stimuli or have security concerns.

Allowing for this will generate more traffic for the site and could help in bringing in income for more developed fee based courses.

It would be convenient to have the ability to change the number of courses that are displayed in the course list. A dropdown with multiple options (10, 25, 50, All, etc.) would be better than a textbox.

Admin should have automatic access to editing any courses within personally administrated networks rather than being added by course creators.

Is there any way to delete "news forum" from the main page?

I can't seem to delete "news forum" from the top of my page (I want to be more specific). I just "hid" it from students, but I'd rather it was gone completely.
